Trials Turned to Gold

          Autumn is now underway and the leaves are turning gold and if you are reading my blogs you know I have a lot of time on my hands and I am spending that catching up on a lifetime of paperwork that I felt was important to save.  Once upon a time I thrived on reading, but now post-concussion I find it difficult to focus on in depth reading, but enjoy snippets of news.  I am reviewing old news as I am reading through the things that inspired me over the years.  Out of the attic has come a box of my treasured notes shared from friends which included a couple newsletters from Keith and Melody Green's The Last Days' Ministry so as I write this I am listening to the adult music of the child prodigy, Keith Green, which can easily be found on a variety of internet sites including the Last Days Ministries website.  Reflecting on his short life, his wife, Melody described how his music of se...

Men and Women of Strength

     I might have to redefine my goal of blogging to once a month versus once a week.  But if you subscribe to this blog, it will appear in your mailbox in a more timely way!  I am still cleaning off the bookshelves and found this poem tucked in to one of my favorite young adult books, a book of poems, "God is a Verb", by Marilee Zdenek.  I will have to share one of her poems in this blog's closing.  I am not sure who wrote this poem about strength, only that my former college roommate shared it with me about 15 or so years ago.  Sometimes people observe us and make assumptions that things come so easy to us, I find this poem addresses my experience well.  A Person of Strength A strong person works out every day to keep their body in shape but a person of strength kneels in prayer to keep their soul in shape...
